Veterinary Technician - Ophthalmology

Fetch Specialty & Emergency Veterinary Centers is family-owned veterinary hospital and we are seeking a Veterinary Technician to join our Ophthalmology team in Brandon, Florida. Responsibilities

• Assist our board-certified Ophthalmologist in performing eye examinations, diagnosing ocular conditions, and planning treatments
• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed
• Perform diagnostic tests including tonometry, fluorescein staining, digital imaging, and ultrasound as needed
• Monitor anesthetized patients during surgical procedures and assist in post-operative care
• Educate pet owners about eye health, treatment plans, and medication administration
• Maintain accurate medical records and documentation of patient care
• Ensure a clean and safe work environment
• Participate in continuing education and stay updated on advancements in veterinary ophthalmology
  
  

Requirements

• High School diploma or equivalent;
• Certification as a Veterinary Technician (CVT, LVT, RVT) is preferred
• Experience in veterinary ophthalmology is a plus
• Ability to perform and monitor anesthesia
• Strong attention to detail and ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
• Comfort handling a variety of animals
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team
• Flexibility to work holidays and on-call shifts
