Responsibilities
- Safely operate commercial trucks with manual transmission across interstate routes, adhering to all traffic laws and safety regulations.
- Load and unload freight efficiently using appropriate equipment such as forklifts or roll-off trucks, ensuring cargo integrity.
- Drive a variety of trailer types including refrigerated, flatbed, tanker, dump truck, and roll-off trucks to deliver goods to multiple destinations.
- Manage route driving logistics to optimize delivery schedules while maintaining punctuality and safety.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections to verify vehicle condition and report any maintenance needs promptly.
- Secure freight properly for transport to prevent damage during transit and ensure compliance with safety standards.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch teams regarding delivery status, route changes, or issues encountered on the road.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in truck driving with a focus on interstate deliveries; previous delivery driver experience is highly valued.
- Valid commercial driver’s license (CDL) with endorsements suitable for operating tractor-trailers, flatbeds, tankers, or refrigerated trailers.
- Skilled in driving manual transmission vehicles and handling various truck types including dump trucks and forklift-equipped vehicles.
