What you’ll do!
EducationQuest is seeking a motivated Accounting Intern to join our team! Working under the direction of the CFO and closely with the Accounting Manager, this internship offers hands-on experience in accounting operations, including accounts payable, financial reporting, and other transactional processes.
This is a fantastic opportunity for students looking to apply their classroom knowledge in a real-world business environment and gain exposure to a variety of accounting functions.

Duration: July 2026-Mid/Late September 2026
Key Responsibilities:
Accounts Payable & General Accounting:
- Ensure accurate General Ledger coding on vendor invoices, journal vouchers, and deposits
- Review vendor invoices and enter them into Sage Intacct
- Process bank deposits, maintain deposit records, and enter receipts into the General Ledger
- Review expense reports for accuracy and compliance with company policy
- Process, print, and mail disbursements with appropriate remittance
- Verify vendor balances and reconcile vendor statements
- Respond to vendor and staff inquiries
- Review, code, and process affiliated company invoices for payment
- Review, code, and enter payroll journal entries
- Maintain current W9 forms for all vendors
- Complete monthly bank and account reconciliations
Financial Reporting:
- Prepare and distribute financial activity reports as requested
- Provide department expense information to managers and directors as needed
Miscellaneous:
- Maintain Accounts Payable files and documentation
- Assist staff and external inquiries
- Perform other duties as assigned
What you’ll bring!
- Successful completion (Grade B or higher) of college-level accounting coursework, including Accounting I & II, Intermediate Accounting, Financial Accounting, Accounting Systems, or equivalent courses
- Strong attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines
- Excellent written and communication skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365 and comfort with cloud-based applications
- Ability to operate office equipment, including copiers and phone systems
- Collaborative team player with a willingness to learn
- Position is based in our Lincoln office, with the possibility for qualified interns to transition to a hybrid or remote schedule in the fall
- Successful completion of a background investigation is required
