Duties:

Toileting/diapering and heavy lifting may be involved.

Implementing and preparing augmentative/alternative communication materials and methods maybe involved.

Working in a cooperative partnership with the staff and implementing a transdisciplinary method of instruction

Knowledge of effective behavior management techniques and their implementation

Supporting the classroom teacher in the execution of the kindergarten curriculum.
Qualifications:
Experience working with preschool children with and without disabilities. Candidates must have Childhood Development Associates (CDAs) or attend training to obtain the certification. Candidates must have excellent communication skills and an ability and willingness to work cooperatively with administration, staff, and parents. Applicants must also be willing to participate in curriculum training.
Reports to: Building Principal and Special Education Program Manager
Salary: Commensurate with Malden Public Schools’ Unit C salary scale.
