Ferro-Ceramic Grinding, Inc. – Wilmington, MA
Full-Time | Day Shift

Ferro-Ceramic Grinding is seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Precision Parts Cleaning & Packing Operator to join our shipping department.

This is a hands-on manufacturing position focused on cleaning precision ceramic components before they are inspected, packaged, and shipped to customers. This is not a building sanitation, janitorial, or general warehouse position.

The operator will use cleaning equipment, solvents or approved cleaning solutions, ultrasonic cleaners, drying equipment, and bagging equipment to remove machining residue, dust, oils, and other surface contamination from finished parts.

Many of the components we manufacture are small, fragile, and produced to tight specifications. The ideal candidate must be able to stay focused, follow detailed work instructions, and consistently handle parts without causing chips, scratches, contamination, or damage.

Responsibilities

  • Clean finished ceramic components using approved cleaning methods and equipment
  • Operate ultrasonic cleaners, washing equipment, drying equipment, and bagging machines
  • Remove machining residue, dust, oils, stains, and surface contamination from parts
  • Handle small, fragile, and precision-manufactured components carefully
  • Visually inspect parts for chips, cracks, stains, residue, or other visible concerns
  • Monitor cleaning cycles and equipment operation to ensure parts are processed correctly
  • Carefully count, wrap, bag, and package completed components
  • Match parts and quantities to travelers, packing slips, and shipping documents
  • Maintain part identification and lot traceability throughout the cleaning and packing process
  • Follow established quality, safety, cleanliness, and part-handling procedures
  • Report damaged parts, contamination, quantity discrepancies, equipment issues, or paperwork concerns
  • Keep the parts-cleaning and packing work areas clean and organized
  • Assist with other production-support activities as needed

Qualifications

  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to stay focused during repetitive work
  • Comfortable working with small and fragile manufactured parts
  • Ability to follow written procedures and cleaning instructions
  • Dependable attendance and a positive attitude
  • Ability to operate basic cleaning and packaging equipment
  • Basic reading, writing, counting, and computer skills
  • Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 30–40 pounds
  • Previous experience with parts cleaning, component washing, manufacturing, cleanroom work, inspection, finishing, plating, medical devices, electronics, or precision assembly is preferred
  • General warehouse experience alone is not required and is not the primary focus of this position
