We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Diesel Mechanic Fleet Technician to join our dynamic maintenance team. Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive diagnostics and repairs on diesel engines, transmissions, hydraulic systems, air brakes, suspension components, and electrical systems using schematics and technical manuals.
- Conduct routine maintenance including oil changes, tire service, brake repairs, alignment checks, and equipment inspections to prevent breakdowns.
- Fabricate and modify parts or components as needed for specialized equipment or repairs using welding and hand tools.
- Operate heavy equipment such as excavators, cranes, forklifts, and farm machinery safely and efficiently during maintenance procedures.
- Troubleshoot complex mechanical issues on heavy trucks, tractor-trailers, industrial equipment, and other vehicle systems to ensure optimal performance.
- Maintain detailed service records, logs, and reports of all repairs performed; adhere to safety protocols at all times.
- Assist in the assembly or disassembly of machinery for repair or replacement purposes while demonstrating mechanical knowledge and attention to detail.
Qualifications
- Proven experience working as a diesel mechanic or heavy equipment technician with dealership experience preferred.
- Strong mechanical knowledge of diesel engines, transmissions, hydraulics, HVAC systems, suspension components, and electrical systems.
- Skilled in automotive diagnostics using schematics and electronic testing tools; capable of troubleshooting complex vehicle systems.
- Hands-on experience with fabrication techniques such as welding; proficient with power tools and hand tools required for equipment repair.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely; comfortable working with tire service equipment and performing wheel alignments.
- Knowledge of heavy truck repair standards including air brake systems and vehicle safety inspections.
- Excellent customer service skills to communicate effectively with team members and clients regarding maintenance needs.
