Summary of Position:
Provide individual, couple, and group short-term mental health counseling, crisis intervention, and outreach, education and campus programs for Ferris State University (FSU) students as part of a required graduate program clinical internship. Interns will be provided with compensation to assist with the costs of their internship at $16 per hour for up to 600 hours.

Required Education:
Applicants must have completed a bachelor's degree or be on track to graduate with their bachelor's degree by the end of their school's spring 2026 semester. Applicants must also be currently enrolled in a graduate level program (psychology, social work, professional counseling or related field), or must have been accepted to start a graduate level program (psychology, social work, professional counseling, or related field) with a start date no later than summer semester 2026.

Additional Education/Experiences to be Considered:
Experience in mental health related or adjacent fields such as advocacy work, case management, or community engagement is preferred.

Provides support staff functions and coverage in the absence of support staff with the other counselors.
Skills and Abilities:
- Must be able to work in a team-oriented atmosphere as a partner within the department as well as the campus community.
- Must be comfortable with computer software applications, such as; Microsoft Office Suite, and navigating an electronic medical records system.
- Must have excellent communication skills, both oral and written.
- Demonstrated successful experience working directly with people from diverse backgrounds, including cultural, educational, socioeconomic and life experiences.
