Accounting Manager – Contract
Location: Hackensack, NJ
Schedule: 4 days onsite / 1 day remote through December; 3 days onsite / 2 days remote starting in 2027
Compensation: $50–$60/hour
Duration: Contract through approximately June/July 2027
We are partnering with an established company in the Hackensack, NJ area seeking an experienced Accounting Manager for a long-term contract opportunity. This is a hands-on role for someone who can take ownership of the close, lead year-end audit activities, and provide guidance to a small accounting team.
Responsibilities
- Lead and execute the monthly close process within a 3–4 day timeline
- Manage year-end audit preparation and coordinate audit-related activities
- Oversee consolidations across five entities
- Perform hands-on accounting while providing leadership and guidance to two Senior Accountants
- Support inventory accounting and related reconciliations
- Maintain accurate financial reporting and ensure deadlines are met
- Partner closely with senior finance leadership
- Support additional accounting and finance initiatives as needed
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree required
- 5 years of progressive accounting experience
- Previous experience managing or leading accounting staff
- Strong month-end close experience, including working within a 3–4 day close
- Experience with multi-entity consolidations
- Strong audit experience
- Inventory accounting experience preferred
- Manufacturing industry experience preferred, but other industries will be considered
- Comfortable operating as a hands-on player/coach
- Valid passport and ability to travel internationally for a required weekday business trip during the week of December 14
Hours: Approximately 40–45 hours per week, with some additional hours during month-end close
Salary : $50 - $60
