Position Summary:
The Communications and Events Coordinator will be involved with all the facets of the communications department, including public relations, event planning, image branding, marketing. Communications and Events Coordinator is responsible for developing and implementing the Company’s communication strategies as well as supporting events and customer engagement campaigns. This position reports to the Communications Manager/Head of Partnerships and Events and will support Ferretti Group America and Allied Marine.
Duties and Responsibilities – Essential Functions
•Ensure flawless execution by personally managing all types of projects in relation to boat shows, trade shows, events, and other public relations objectives
•Maintain and monitor the accuracy of event dates, financial information, estimates, billing, etc., prior to distribution for Ferretti Group and Allied Marine
•Ensure adherence to budget directives and communicate if there is a variance expected
•Order show services by show deadlines
•Oversee the inventory of show materials, brochures, and merchandise and coordinate the re-supply of items as needed in time for events and for all offices
•With supervision, hire and train show subcontractors (models, runners, catering staff)
•Coordinate all internal and external communications relative to projects including leading project meetings, developing, and communicating timelines, and project status reports for Ferretti Group and Allied Marine
•Research and provide estimates for new furnishings
•Oversee the image of each of the FL/NY office locations
•Coordinate the creation, replacement, or repair of show materials well in advance of upcoming events
•Oversee the I&D of booth properties and event services
•Coordinate shipping logistics for marketing materials
•Comply with all policies and safety guidelines established
•Maintain a sense of humor in the face of high stress and energy environments
•Establish and maintain effective working relationship with all employees, vendors, and clients
•Performs other duties as assigned
Job Specifications
Education
•Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Marketing, Communications, or related field preferred
Experience
•Minimum of 3 years related experience in event planning, marketing, and communications
•Experience in the yachting/marine industry a plus, experience in a luxury brand required
•Marketing/ event agency experience required
•Luxury hospitality experience preferred
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
•Ability to travel domestically and internationally for extended periods of time
•Fluency in English required, the ability to speak a second language is a plus
•Flexible to work nights/weekends/holidays as necessary
•Skilled in the use of MS Office and iOS products, SAP
•Able to write business correspondence and effectively communicate ideas, processes, and expectations
•Experience with the development and execution of partnership events a plus
•Knowledge of branding & brand development and agency experience a plus
•Valid driver’s license required
Work Environment
•Work is conducted indoors and outdoors meeting with clients, yacht captains, shipyards, and ports on floating barges inspecting boats
•Operating of standard office equipment such as copy machine, laptop computer in the office setting
•Motor skills and senses include speaking, listening, comprehension, sight, typing, writing
Physical Abilities
•Walking, standing, climbing stairways, pushing and lifting up to 30 pounds
