6:00 am - 3:30 pm Monday-Thursday
6:00 am – 10:00 am Friday’s
STARTING RATE: $21.70 per hour
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:This position has no supervisory responsibilities
JOB SUMMARY:
Ferret Inc. is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Material Handler to join our production team. This role is critical to ensuring efficient material flow and supporting uninterrupted operations. The successful candidate will demonstrate proficiency in operating forklifts and other material handling equipment in both indoor and outdoor environments throughout the year. Responsibilities include loading, unloading, moving, stacking, and staging steel coils, sheet metal, and finished goods with a very strong emphasis on safety, accuracy, and adherence to company standards.
REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS
· Ability to safely operate a forklift to handle customer product which includes finished goods up to 30 feet in length.
· Ability to safely operate a forklift to load and unload raw materials from semi-trailers which includes steel coils weighing up to 15,000 lbs.
· Ability to safely load steel coils onto de-coilers with both small and large lifts.
· Ability to safely operate an overhead crane.
· Ability to safely operate a shrink wrap machine and heat shrink wrap the finished goods.
· Ability to learn and understand warehouse locations for staging of raw materials and finished goods.
· Ability to build skids and operate pneumatic, battery, and manual binders.
· Ability to learn and understand the planning of material support for multiple roll forming lines.
· Ability to learn and understand the tagging, verification, and staging of finished goods.
· Must have a very strong commitment to safety, both for oneself and others
· Must be aware of and abide by all company policies, shop rules, and safety regulations.
· Must maintain professional conduct at all times.
· Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
· Willingness to be flexible and perform other miscellaneous duties as assigned by supervisors.
· Ability to lift 30 lbs. continuously.
· Ability to stand, walk, and sit for long periods of time.
