We are seeking an experienced Division Manager – Transmission & Distribution to lead one of our most strategic utility operations based in Rancho Cucamonga, California. This executive leadership position will oversee Ferreira Power West's portfolio of work supporting Southern California Edison (SCE) and will be responsible for operational excellence, financial performance, client satisfaction, and strategic growth.

Position Summary

The Division Manager holds full operational and financial responsibility for Ferreira Power West's Southern California Edison (SCE) portfolio. This role provides executive leadership over all assigned transmission and distribution programs, ensuring projects are executed safely, on schedule, within budget, and in accordance with client expectations and company standards.

Reporting directly to executive leadership, the Division Manager maintains full Profit & Loss (P&L) accountability and is responsible for translating company strategy into measurable operational results. This includes aligning project execution, financial forecasting, staffing, client management, business development, and risk management into a cohesive operating plan that delivers predictable performance and sustainable growth.


The Division Manager serves as Ferreira Power West's senior operational representative for Southern California Edison and plays a critical role in strengthening client relationships while expanding the company's presence throughout the SCE service territory.


Key Responsibilities:


Executive Leadership

  • Lead all Transmission & Distribution operations supporting Southern California Edison.
  • Provide leadership, mentorship, and accountability to Senior Project Managers, Project Managers, Project Engineers, Superintendents, Coordinators, and operational staff.
  • Develop a high-performing leadership team while creating succession plans and building organizational depth.
  • Foster a culture focused on safety, accountability, collaboration, operational excellence, and continuous improvement.
  • Establish performance expectations that align with company objectives and client commitments.

Financial Management

  • Maintain full divisional Profit & Loss (P&L) responsibility.
  • Develop and manage annual operating plans, budgets, revenue forecasts, and financial performance.
  • Oversee project forecasting, earned value management, cost-to-complete projections, and financial reporting.
  • Monitor gross margin performance and proactively identify financial risks before they impact profitability.
  • Drive forecasting accuracy while reducing margin fade across the division.
  • Oversee billing, collections, receivables, cash flow, and financial reporting.
  • Lead change order strategy and commercial recovery efforts to maximize project profitability.

Operations Management

  • Ensure projects are executed safely, efficiently, and in compliance with contractual obligations.
  • Oversee project planning, staffing, scheduling, procurement, subcontractor performance, and resource allocation.
  • Conduct routine operational and financial project reviews to evaluate schedule performance, profitability, safety, quality, and overall project health.
  • Promote consistency in project controls, reporting standards, forecasting, and execution practices.
  • Implement continuous improvement initiatives that increase productivity and operational efficiency.

Client Relationship Management

  • Serve as Ferreira Power West's executive point of contact for Southern California Edison.
  • Develop and maintain trusted relationships with SCE leadership, construction management, engineering, and program stakeholders.
  • Lead executive meetings, operational reviews, and strategic planning sessions with the client.
  • Ensure exceptional client satisfaction through consistent communication, responsiveness, and project delivery.
  • Identify opportunities to expand Ferreira Power West's services and market presence within the SCE system.

Business Development & Strategic Growth

  • Partner with Business Development and Estimating teams to convert opportunities into profitable backlog.
  • Support proposal development, contract negotiations, and strategic pursuits.
  • Evaluate market opportunities and develop long-term growth strategies for the Transmission & Distribution Division.
  • Ensure new work aligns with available resources, operational capacity, and profitability objectives.
  • Protect and expand Ferreira Power West's long-term partnership with Southern California Edison.

Risk Management & Compliance

  • Ensure compliance with all contractual obligations, regulatory requirements, company policies, and safety standards.
  • Proactively identify operational, financial, contractual, and schedule-related risks.
  • Develop mitigation strategies and escalate significant issues to executive leadership as appropriate.
  • Maintain documentation standards that support successful project execution, claims management, and audit readiness.


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Business Management, or a related field preferred.
  • 15 years of progressive leadership experience within utility construction, transmission, distribution, or power infrastructure.
  • 8 years managing large utility construction programs with direct Profit & Loss responsibility.
  • Demonstrated experience leading multiple project teams across geographically diverse operations.
  • Strong background managing electric transmission, distribution, substation, or utility infrastructure projects.
  • Proven expertise in budgeting, forecasting, project controls, earned value management, and financial reporting.
  • Thorough understanding of utility contracts, change order management, claims avoidance, and commercial operations.
  • Outstanding leadership, communication, negotiation, and executive relationship management skills.
  • Ability to travel throughout Southern California as business needs require.


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Extensive experience managing Transmission & Distribution programs for Southern California Edison (SCE).
  • Existing executive relationships with SCE leadership and utility stakeholders strongly preferred.
  • Experience managing utility construction portfolios exceeding $100 million annually.
  • Knowledge of California utility regulations, CPUC requirements, and utility construction standards.
  • Experience with overhead and underground electric distribution, transmission line construction, substations, and utility infrastructure projects.
  • Previous leadership experience with a self-perform utility contractor.
  • OSHA 30, PMP, or other industry certifications are a plus.

Salary : $175,000 - $215,000
