About the Associate Producer, Crime JunkieThe Associate Producer supports the production of Crime Junkie episodes across audio and video formats. This role works closely with producers and reporting teams to assist in the development, execution, and delivery of episodes from concept through completion.
The Associate Producer plays a key role in maintaining Audiochuck’s standards of accuracy, ethical storytelling, and production excellence. This position supports research, asset collection, production logistics, and post-production coordination to ensure each episode is completed on time, on standard, and with strong attention to detail.
This role is ideal for someone who thrives in structured workflows, values precision, and enjoys supporting collaborative, fast-paced production environments.
What You’ll DoEpisode Development & Production SupportSupport producers in the development and production of assigned episodes from concept through completion
Assist with script preparation, revisions, and fact-checking to ensure accuracy and consistency
Prepare materials for recording sessions, including scripts, pronunciation guides, and reference documents
Participate in editorial meetings and contribute to discussions as appropriate
Source and organize multimedia assets including archival video, photos, and graphic references
Maintain organized tracking systems for incoming materials and asset records
Conduct outreach for information, assets, and permissions as directed
Ensure all assets are properly organized and transferred to editors in a clear and timely manner
Support recording sessions and video shoots by tracking notes, identifying errors, and assisting with real-time production needs
Coordinate logistics for shoots and recordings including scheduling, asset readiness, and crew support
Support post-production workflows by tracking deliverables and assisting with asset clearance processes
Review cuts for basic accuracy including spelling, grammar, on-screen text, and continuity
Maintain accurate project trackers and document milestones and deadlines
Communicate progress, updates, and potential challenges to producers and show leadership
Collaborate across reporting, production, post-production, and marketing teams to ensure smooth handoffs
Work is consistently accurate across scripts, assets, and production materials
Potential inconsistencies or issues are identified early
Materials are organized, clearly labeled, and easy for the team to access
Tasks are completed efficiently and on deadline
Team needs are anticipated and gaps are addressed proactively
Established processes are followed while contributing to practical improvements
Recording sessions and shoots run smoothly due to strong preparation and real-time support
Assets and materials are ready in advance of production milestones
Project tracking is accurate and up to date
Handoffs between reporting, production, post-production, and marketing are seamless
Collaboration is effective across producers, reporters, editors, and production staff
Feedback is received and implemented quickly
Updates are provided clearly and risks are escalated early
Experience supporting audio, video, or podcast production environments preferred
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
Ability to manage multiple tasks and shifting priorities
Clear written and verbal communication skills
