Job Overview
We are seeking a driven and customer-focused Account Executive to grow sales and strengthen client relationships within an assigned Northeast territory. This territory-based role is responsible for driving revenue, developing new business, and supporting existing accounts across the region. The Account Executive reports directly to the District Sales Manager and plays a key role in expanding market presence and achieving sales objectives.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and grow a defined sales territory within the Northeast region.
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities with independent and chain accounts.
- Meet or exceed sales targets, KPIs, and profitability goals established by Sales Leadership.
- Build and maintain strong customer relationships through consistent communication and on-site visits.
- Analyze customer purchasing patterns and identify opportunities to increase product penetration.
- Deliver exceptional customer service, ensuring timely follow-up and issue resolution.
- Develop and execute tailored sales strategies based on market insights and customer needs.
- Create and present proposals, product programs, and promotional offerings to clients.
- Participate in customer events, trade shows, and regional marketing activities.
- Collaborate closely with internal teams—including purchasing, operations, and finance—to support customer needs.
- Provide guidance or support to new sales team members when needed.
Qualifications
- Proven sales experience with a track record of meeting or exceeding goals.
- Strong prospecting skills and ability to manage the full sales cycle from lead generation to close.
- Excellent communication, relationship-building, and negotiation abilities.
- Highly organized and comfortable operating independently in a field-based role.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and CRM systems.
- Valid driver’s license, auto insurance, and willingness to travel extensively within the territory (up to 100%).
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- Field sales, route sales, or territory management experience.
- Experience in foodservice, distribution, or consumer goods is a plus.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds as needed.
- Frequent walking, standing, and bending during customer visits.
Salary : $55,000 - $85,000
