Master Data Management Coordinator

About the Role:

The Master Data Management (MDM) Specialist plays a critical role in developing, governing, and optimizing accurate, consistent, and reliable master data across the organization. This includes product, customer, vendor, and pricing data that supports core business functions across procurement, sales, marketing, finance, and IT. This role exercises independent judgment and discretion in managing enterprise data standards and contributes to system enhancements and continuous improvement initiatives in a fast-paced foodservice distribution environment.

What You’ll Do:

Maintain Data Accuracy & Integrity

• Establish, maintain, and improve master data standards within ERP and related systems
• Manage product, customer, vendor, pack size, category, allergen, and nutritional data
• Evaluate data impacts and recommend changes aligned with business objectives

Support Product Content Management

• Oversee product images, labels, and related digital content across systems
• Define content requirements for new item setup and product launches
• Coordinate or collect assets to ensure data completeness and accuracy

Ensure Data Governance & Compliance

• Enforce data governance policies, naming conventions, and categorization standards
• Assess data quality risks and recommend corrective actions
• Support accurate reporting, analytics, and regulatory compliance

Collaborate Cross-Functionally

• Partner with Sales, Purchasing, Finance, Marketing, and IT to assess data needs
• Translate business requirements into scalable data standards
• Support initiatives requiring reliable and consistent master data

Audit and Improve Data Quality

• Identify and resolve data discrepancies, duplicates, and missing information
• Conduct recurring audits to ensure data integrity
• Implement process improvements to enhance operational efficiency

Support Systems & Projects

• Serve as a subject matter expert for ERP enhancements and integrations
• Support taxonomy changes and digital initiatives involving master data
• Evaluate proposed system changes and provide data impact recommendations

Document and Train

• Develop and maintain master data policies, procedures, and reference documentation
• Provide guidance on data standards and entry requirements
• Support training for internal stakeholders on governance practices

What You Bring

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Information Systems, Supply Chain, or related field (preferred)
• 5  years of experience in master data management, data governance, or ERP environments (preferred)
• Experience with ERP systems such as NCR Retalix / Power Enterprise, SAP, Oracle, or NetSuite
• Foodservice, distribution, or manufacturing experience strongly preferred
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and data analysis tools
• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
• Effective communication skills with the ability to influence cross-functional stakeholders
