Qualified Mental Health Professional (QMHP)

Fernbrook Family Center is a growing community mental health agency with more than 250 dedicated employees serving children, adults, and families throughout Minnesota. Our mission is to strengthen individuals and families through compassionate, high-quality behavioral health services. We are seeking licensed Qualified Mental Health Professionals (QMHPs) to provide diagnostic assessments, psychotherapy, and rehabilitative mental health services in home, office, and community settings.

Position Summary

As a Qualified Mental Health Professional (QMHP), you will provide comprehensive mental health services to children, adults, and families through diagnostic assessments, individual, family, group, and rehabilitative interventions. Working collaboratively with clients, families, healthcare providers, schools, and community partners, you will develop treatment plans that promote recovery, resilience, and improved daily functioning.

This position offers flexibility, clinical autonomy, and the opportunity to make a meaningful impact while receiving ongoing support from an experienced multidisciplinary team.

What You'll Do

  • Provide psychotherapy and rehabilitative mental health services to children, adults, families, and groups.
  • Complete diagnostic assessments to determine eligibility for mental health services.
  • Develop individualized treatment plans that support client goals and recovery.
  • Maintain accurate, timely, and high-quality clinical documentation.
  • Meet established productivity and billable service expectations.
  • Collaborate with clients, families, schools, medical providers, county agencies, and other community partners.
  • Consult with supervisors and colleagues regarding clinical care as needed.
  • Participate in staff meetings, clinical consultation, and team collaboration.
  • Complete required agency training and continuing education.
  • Maintain compliance with professional licensing standards and agency policies.
  • Uphold Fernbrook Family Center's mission, values, and commitment to quality care.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Current Minnesota licensure as one of the following:
    • Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker (LICSW)
    • Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC)
    • Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT)
    • Licensed Psychologist (LP)
  • Reliable transportation.
  • Valid driver's license, current automobile insurance, and acceptable driving record.
  • Ability to pass required criminal background studies in accordance with Department of Human Services requirements.
Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience providing mental health services to children, adults, and families.
  • Experience conducting diagnostic assessments.
  • Experience providing psychotherapy in home, community, or outpatient settings.
  • Bilingual or multilingual abilities.

Work Environment & Schedule

  • Flexible schedule, generally between 7:00 a.m. and 7:00 p.m.
  • Services are provided in client homes, community locations, Fernbrook offices, schools, and other approved settings.
  • Regular travel throughout assigned service areas is required.
  • Salaried employees generally work 40–43 hours per week, based on client and program needs.
  • Hourly employees may work up to 40 hours per week, with overtime requiring supervisor approval.

Physical Requirements

  • Prolonged periods of sitting, computer work, observation, and active listening.
  • Occasionally lift up to 15 pounds.
