Position Overview

Fermi Logistics LLC is seeking an experienced and motivated Account Manager / Transportation & Logistics Broker to manage and grow customer accounts while overseeing the execution of freight movements from pickup through delivery. This role blends sales, customer relationship management, and brokerage operations, making it ideal for a logistics professional who understands both the commercial and operational sides of freight transportation.

This position is performance-driven and commission-focused, with earning potential directly tied to account growth, freight volume, and margin performance. It is best suited for a self-directed professional who thrives in a results-oriented environment and is motivated by long-term account ownership and uncapped income potential.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and grow assigned shipper accounts, serving as the primary point of contact
  • Develop freight solutions tailored to customer needs, lanes, service levels, and budgets
  • Source, secure, and execute freight using company assets and qualified third-party carriers
  • Negotiate rates and contracts with customers and carriers while protecting company margins
  • Oversee load execution, ensuring on-time pickup and delivery performance
  • Proactively communicate shipment status, delays, and service updates to customers
  • Ensure all freight movements comply with FMCSA, DOT, and customer requirements
  • Maintain accurate records within TMS, load tracking, and documentation systems
  • Support invoicing, proof of delivery (POD), and billing processes
  • Build and maintain a strong, compliant carrier network
  • Collaborate with operations and leadership to improve service performance and account retention

Qualifications

  • 1 year experience in freight brokerage, transportation account management, or logistics sales (preferred)
  • Strong understanding of trucking operations, lanes, equipment types, and market pricing
  • Experience working with shippers, carriers, and load boards (DAT, Truckstop, etc.)
  • Proven ability to manage customer relationships and grow freight volumes
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to balance sales responsibilities with operational execution
  • Strong organizational and follow-up skills
  • Proficiency with email, spreadsheets, and transportation software (TMS)
  • Knowledge of DOT and FMCSA regulations is a plus

Schedule

  • Full-time
  • Monday–Friday
  • Occasional after-hours availability for account or shipment support
