Responsibilities
- Read and interpret construction plans, schematics, and technical drawings to execute concrete finishing tasks accurately.
- Prepare and set formwork for concrete pouring, ensuring proper alignment and stability according to blueprint specifications.
- Operate concrete mixers, pumps, power tools, and heavy equipment safely and efficiently during various phases of construction projects.
- Pour, spread, level, and smooth freshly poured concrete using hand tools such as trowels, floats, and screeds to achieve desired finishes.
- Install rebar and metal mesh reinforcement as specified in blueprints to strengthen concrete structures.
- Perform concrete cutting, finishing, sealing, caulking, and sealing tasks to ensure surface quality and durability.
- Adhere strictly to construction workplace safety regulations, including proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and safety protocols during all operations.
- Assist with masonry, plastering, stucco application, flooring installation, tile laying, roofing support, and other related renovation or restoration activities as needed.
- Collaborate with team members on construction site projects to ensure timely completion while maintaining high standards of quality and safety.
Qualifications
- Proven experience working on construction projects with a focus on concrete finishing or related trades such as carpentry or masonry.
- Strong mechanical knowledge of tools, heavy equipment operation, and construction machinery including concrete mixers and pumps.
- Ability to read blueprints, schematics, technical drawings, and interpret blueprint specifications accurately.
- Knowledge of construction estimating processes and understanding of construction plans is preferred.
- Familiarity with construction workplace safety regulations and best practices for heavy lifting and working at heights.
- Skilled in using hand tools, power tools, scaffolding systems, formwork construction techniques, rebar installation methods, and concrete pouring procedures.
- Experience with metal stud framing, framing carpentry (including trim carpentry), roofing support activities or tile laying is advantageous.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely while maintaining attention to detail during finishing tasks such as caulking or plastering.
- Valid driver’s license for commercial driving or operating heavy equipment may be required depending on project needs.
