Job Description:
Responsibilities:
- Work with Category Managers to develop and execute strategies within commercial plumbing, specifically water heaters and hydronics, to define the product strategy, roadmap and create short term operational plans
- Ensure alignment and execution of the strategies with Business Development to ensure alignment
- Conduct research on potential commercial plumbing, specifically water heaters and hydronics suppliers, promotions, and other industry trends and manage relationships with industry influencers and key strategic partners
- Launch pricing programs and evaluates exclusive product opportunities
- Influence the strategic direction to improve vendor relationships, evaluate new products and attend top vendor meetings
- Review, management and/or negotiation of long-term and/or blanket purchase contracts and vendor programs and participate in acquisition evaluations to support integration into corporate programs
- Assists in resolving escalated vendor-related problems (specifications, timing, quality, quantity, and delivery)
- Assess external price trends and new product offerings to reduce purchasing costs by understanding cost drivers and develop buying strategies that maximize margins while balancing working capital
- Conduct regular associate meetings.
- Represent the organization to vendors, associates and leadership as needed.
- Manages complex negotiations and/or multi-channel programs with minimal supervision/management involvement
- Exercises advanced analytical skills and manages complex tasks
Qualifications:
- 5+ years of experience in Category/Product Management.
- 5+ years of experience related to creating contracts, product sales and/or purchasing.
- Bachelor’s Degree in relevant field is preferred.
- Experience in developing category focused business plans.
- Ability to analyze technical aspects and benefits of the product line.
- Ability to effectively communicate in writing.
- Ability to effectively communicate verbally.
- Ability to develop and deliver effective presentations to groups.
- Ability to lead and motivate individuals and teams.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office software (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, etc.).
