Overview
Ferguson Construction Inc. is seeking a highly skilled senior estimator to join our construction team. This position offers an excellent opportunity for individuals with estimating experience to contribute to a professional environment that values efficiency and teamwork.
Duties
- Lead the preparation of detailed cost estimates for commercial construction projects.
- Assist in the preconstruction planning and budgeting phases collaborating with clients, architects, engineers and internal teams.
- Review proposal specifications and drawings to determine the scope of the work and required content of an estimate including the risks and opportunities.
- Calculate a complete takeoff of the scope of the work to determine detailed cost estimate, budgets and value engineering options.
- Obtain and analyze multiple subcontractor quotes across varying trades to determine qualified subcontractors for each project.
- Evaluate and negotiate pricing with subcontractors and suppliers.
- Work closely with project executives and operations to ensure alignment of schedule, logistics and constructability.
- Support business development efforts with conceptual estimates and proposal input.
- Participate in project interviews, pre-bid meetings, site visits and client presentations.
Qualifications
- 7 years of experience in commercial construction estimating.
- Strong understanding of construction means, methods and industry practice and standards.
- Proficiency with estimating software and takeoff tools.
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.
- Strong written, presentation, analytical and mathematical skills.
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or related field preferred.
- Working knowledge of Sage/Timberline Estimating Software a plus.
Salary : $125,000 - $150,000
