The ideal candidate is a detail oriented, motivated self-starter. This candidate is competent in conducting design surveys, boundary surveys, topography surveys, utility location surveys, and data collection. Candidates should be familiar with robotic technology and GPS, as well as radio utility locators. No overnight travel is required for this position.
The Professional Surveyor plays a key role in supporting the design and construction teams by conducting accurate and detailed surveys for various projects. This position is responsible for performing property, boundary, topographic, utility, and record surveys, as well as construction layout and staking. The Professional Surveyor ensures the accuracy and completeness of survey data, including measurements and calculations, while also maintaining compliance with professional standards and risk management practices.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Demonstrate excellent attention to detail throughout the survey process.
- Assist design team with survey research.
- Perform property, boundary, topographic, utility, and record surveys as well as construction stakeouts.
- Assist with survey and courthouse/deed research to complete boundary resolution for property boundaries, rights-of-ways, easements and utilities.
- Verify accuracy and completeness of survey data, including measurements and calculations. Prepare/transmit data for use by office personnel.
- Monitor quality and compliance with professional standards and risk management.
- Ensure that all construction site, foundation, and building layout and staking is accurate by performing various checks both during procedures and upon completion.
- Transmit data collection into Civil 3D and draft existing conditions, for use by Civil Designers in all Design/Build jobs.
- Train and mentor other survey team members.
- Ensure that all survey equipment is properly maintained and calibrated, and that all materials are organized and well stocked.
EXPERIENCE, SKILLS, AND REQUIREMENTS
- Experience:
4 years minimum Field Survey Experience.
Posses current active PS licensure in Ohio or with reciprocity to Ohio.
1 Year Managing a Crew
- Skills:
Strong sense of urgency and self-drive to meet deadlines.
Working knowledge of a Trimble data collector (TSC5), Robot Total Station and GPS receiver (R12i).
Working knowledge Autodesk Civil 3D.
Ability to read and interpret civil drawings.
Strong math skills.
- Requirements:
Driver's License (Required).
Must be able to work outdoors.
Must be able to perform physical activities such as lifting up to 20 pounds, dragging, stooping, standing, and walking for periods of time.
