L&E Engineering are seeking a skilled Tube Bender with experience in manual tube bending in a manufacturing environment. This position is responsible for manual trim, manual bending and rework operations as needed.
The ideal candidate will have blueprint reading skills, experience working with close tolerances, and the ability to manually manipulate and adjust tubing to meet customer specifications. This role requires a high attention to detail and quality workmanship for aerospace parts.
Work is performed in a climate-controlled manufacturing facility with a friendly environment and small company feel. Full-time position available on 1st shift. Positions come with benefits, retention increases, and annual one-on-one reviews.
Schedule
- 1st Shift: Monday – Thursday 6:00 am – 4:30 pm
- Overtime daily and Fridays as needed
(Mon–Thurs until 5:30 pm and Friday 6:00 am – 11:00 am)
Responsibilities
- Cut, trim, stretch, bend, straighten, shape, pound, or press metal to specification using various tools and machines such as hammer, lathes, mills, surface grinders, etc.
- Perform mechanical fabrication work requiring fitting, alignment, and adjustment of aerospace tubing to close tolerances
- Perform manual corrections and rework to production items as needed
- Read and interpret blueprints, process plans, and written/verbal instructions
- Verify conformance to specifications using precision measuring tools and inspection methods
- Troubleshoot dimensional or fabrication issues and work with leadership or engineering when required
- Maintain quality and production standards while following all company and customer requirements
- Assist in continuous improvement efforts related to tube fabrication and manufacturing efficiency
- Maintain a clean and organized work area
- Follow all safety procedures and company policies
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED required
- Previous experience in manufacturing
- Prior aerospace manufacturing experience advantageous
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings
- Basic machining and fabrication tool knowledge
- Experience using precision measuring instruments
- Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills
- Good work ethics
- Self-starter
- Willing to learn
Position Demands
- Able to lift and/or move up to 25 pounds on a daily basis
- Able to stand for prolonged periods of time
- Able to bend, twist, turn, carry, walk, stoop, kneel, and reach throughout the workday
- Able to successfully pass vision screens
- Able to perform repetitive fabrication duties
- Extended hours required during peak workloads or special projects
