Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and energetic Kennel Assistant to join our Cat Shelter team. Responsibilities
- Maintain cleanliness of kennels, treatment areas, and surgical suites through regular cleaning, disinfecting, and sanitation procedures
- Assist with duties such as feeding, grooming, and monitoring cats for signs of illness
- Support veterinary technicians and veterinarians with tasks such as medication administration
- Ensure proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) to maintain safety protocols for staff and animals
- Assist with cat handling, restraint, and behavior management to ensure safety during kennel cleaning
Qualifications
- Prior kennel or animal handling experience is preferred, but we will provide training for a highly motivated individual who is willing to learn
- Knowledge of cat and kitten behavior is advantageous
- Prior experience in a shelter environment or veterinary clinic is a plus
- Ability to perform cleaning duties efficiently while adhering to safety standards is required
- Skills in medication administration is desirable but not necessary
