Overview
Fera Pets is seeking a Director of Marketing to lead brand strategy and execution across our premium pet-supplements portfolio. This is a newly created role — added as we scale and a direct reflection of the business's growth and momentum. Responsibilities include leading marketing strategy and execution, overseeing market planning, managing marketing campaigns, and conducting in-depth market research to identify opportunities. The Director of Marketing will also collaborate with teams for brand growth and design initiatives to strengthen customer engagement and sales performance.
As the Director of Marketing, you will shape positioning, translate consumer and competitive insights into action, and drive sustainable growth with strong commercial and financial acumen. This role sits at the intersection of brand building and performance marketing, connecting positioning, demand generation, and digital commerce into one cohesive plan — all while leading a team and operating with entrepreneurial speed.
Key Responsibilities
1. Build the brand Define and evolve Fera's brand strategy, positioning, architecture, and messaging. Turn research into differentiated, ownable claims and creative direction. Ensure the brand shows up consistently and compellingly across all touchpoints.
2. Run the business Bring P&L fluency across revenue, gross margin, and marketing investment to inform decisions and recommendations. Manage the marketing plan against goals, balancing short-term performance with long-term brand health. Monitor core business indicators and identify risks, opportunities, and actions. Review monthly and quarterly P&L data to inform shifts that deliver financial targets.
3. Drive demand and conversion Improve marketing effectiveness across the funnel, from awareness through conversion and repeat. Partner on optimization of key levers such as conversion rate, subscription growth, and content effectiveness. Use testing and learning to improve message-market fit and channel performance.
4. Lead teams and cross-functional execution Lead and develop 2–4 direct reports with clarity on priorities, accountability, and growth. Build a strong, high-performing team culture grounded in coaching, feedback, and talent development. Lead a matrixed team across insights, sales, finance, agency, creative, and external partners.
5. Support omni-channel growth Ensure the brand is built to win both online and in-store. Orchestrate integrated marketing across website and PDP content, paid media, creative development, content strategy, and influencer and vet partnerships. Partner on retail narratives, launch readiness, and customer-facing storytelling.

- Sharpen Fera's positioning and messaging so the brand is more clearly differentiated in the market
- Improve the effectiveness of core digital touchpoints including PDPs, website content, and performance creative
- Establish a disciplined operating rhythm with clear briefs, priorities, forecasting, and measurement
- Deliver against topline and profit commitments while strengthening brand execution across touchpoints
- Build a high-performing team and strong cross-functional ways of working
- Build confidence that the business is being led with both strategic rigor and entrepreneurial speed
Ideal Candidate Profile
- Proven brand leader with strong commercial and P&L fluency
- Strong strategist who moves fluidly from insights to positioning to execution
- Equally credible in brand building and growth marketing
- Comfortable in a smaller, faster-moving environment where structure may need to be created, not inherited
- Experience leading and developing direct reports while collaborating with cross-functional and external partners
- Background in premium consumer brands, wellness, supplements, pet, or digitally native businesses strongly preferred
Minimum Requirements
- 7 years of progressive marketing or brand management experience, including at least 2 years in a senior brand or marketing leadership role
- Experience leading integrated brand plans across digital and retail environments
- People leadership experience including direct management, coaching, and talent development
- Strong analytical and financial acumen
- Experience with agency management, creative development, brand storytelling, and performance optimization
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work cross-functionally and with external partners
- Bachelor's degree in Marketing required; MBA a plus
Compensation and Benefits
The salary range for this position is $140,000 to $165,000 annually with potential for a bonus. Fera Pets offers a competitive Total Rewards package including medical and dental insurance, paid time off, maternity and paternity leave, remote flexibility, and a pet-friendly office in Los Angeles.
