About the Role

We’re looking for a creative, strategic, and results-oriented Social Media Manager to lead the charge across all our social channels. You’ll be responsible for shaping and executing our organic social media strategy—from content creation and community engagement to influencer partnerships and brand storytelling. Reporting to the Director of Marketing and VP of Growth, you’ll collaborate closely with our Creative Lead, Growth Marketing Manager, and eCommerce team to build brand awareness, drive customer acquisition and retention, and elevate our voice in the pet wellness space.

This is a high-impact, hands-on role ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced startup environment and is passionate about pets, storytelling, and building community.

This position is based in Los Angeles, CA, but we welcome remote candidates who can travel once a month. 

Key Responsibilities

Social Media Strategy & Execution

  • Own the strategy, brand voice, and execution of all social media platforms including, but not limited to, Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, YouTube, LinkedIn, and Twitter
  • Create and manage the full content calendar aligned with brand campaigns, product launches, partnerships, and seasonal trends
  • Lead content creation and copywriting in collaboration with internal and external partners—balancing education, entertainment, and product storytelling
  • Monitor trends, hashtags, and platform innovations to keep Fera culturally relevant and ahead of the curve
  • Drive organic audience growth, engagement, loyalty and community development


Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Partner with Creative Lead, Growth Marketing Manager, and eCommerce teams to align social strategies with broader brand and performance goals
  • Coordinate campaigns across digital touchpoints (email, website, influencers, paid media) for integrated storytelling
  • Work with external agencies and freelancers to create and optimize assets


Influencer & Ambassador Program

  • Recruit, manage, and nurture relationships with brand ambassadors and influencers
  • Track performance, ROI, and content output from influencer partnerships


Reputation Management & Customer Engagement

  • Respond to DMs, comments, and community inquiries to build trust and connection
  • Manage customer feedback and reviews across platforms; share insights with Quality Control and leadership
  • Develop and execute a strategy to increase positive reviews and brand sentiment


Analytics & Optimization

  • Track KPIs, platform performance, and audience insights
  • Deliver monthly reports with actionable recommendations to improve reach, engagement, and conversions
  • A/B test creative and messaging to improve performance and inform future campaigns


Public Relations & Communication Support

  • Assist in drafting blog posts, press releases, and newsletter content
  • Support PR efforts and brand partnerships with strategic social content


Qualifications

  • 3–5 years of experience in social media management, preferably for a consumer product or wellness brand
  • Proven track record of growing social audiences and engagement across multiple platforms
  • Strong writing skills, visual storytelling ability, and a sharp design eye
  • Experience with social media tools (Later, Sprout, Cision, Meltwater, etc.)
  • Familiarity with influencer marketing and ambassador programs (GRIN, Aspire, Upfluence, etc.)
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to turn insights into action
  • Passion for pets and a deep interest in wellness, sustainability, and lifestyle brands
  • Experience in a startup or scrappy, fast-paced environment is a big plus

SALARY RANGE:

$80,000 – $100,000 annually performance-based bonus
