What You’ll Be Doing…
- Perform laboratory tests and experiments per the work instructions and test methodologies to support the product line.
- Perform testing of chemical properties and physical properties to assist different departments in developing new or existing products and evaluating alternative raw materials or processes.
- Enter data into the LIMS (Lab Information Management System)
- Assist in evaluating new and current raw materials or processes.
- Assist / perform routine maintenance, troubleshooting and calibration tests on lab test equipment.
- Supports the manufacturing operations by performing tasks in accordance with established and documented work instructions (i.e., First Article Inspections, gauge set-ups, control of nonconforming material, etc.).
- Provides training and guidance in quality principles to associates both within and outside of the department.
- Ensures the acceptability of incoming materials, in-process and outgoing products by performing the specified inspections and audits.
- Collects data to support analytical methods including capability studies, statistical process control, sampling plans and other statistical tools.
- Correctly interprets drawings, specifications, established standards (visual and dimensional), and other customer requirements and applies these to the product conformance determination process.
- Collects data for gage R&R's and gage calibrations in accordance with established guidelines.
- Design basic test fixtures for use in product testing.
- Operate computer-controlled test equipment and review data with the training from lab staffs.
- Operate in accordance with ISO procedures.
- Expected to be proficient in all lab equipment.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Maintain and Promote Fenner Precision Polymers Values and Behaviors at all times.
- Must have general knowledge of standard lab practices and ISO Quality System requirements
- Ability to use various measuring instruments (g. micrometers, calipers, etc.).
- Have basic knowledge of polymer materials and compounds.
- Follow ASTM test methods and SOP procedures.
- Excellent record keeping and reporting
- Strong attention to detail, ability to organize job priorities and effectively manage multiple projects.
- Good problem solving and analytical skills, mechanical aptitude and ability.
- Must have good verbal/written communication skills and excellent interpersonal skills
