Responsibilities
- Assist attorneys with fiduciary, gift, and estate tax return preparation
- Prepare drafts of estate planning documents and amendments for attorney review
- Support deed and entity document preparation, recordings, filings with government agencies, court pleadings, and tax returns
- Initiate and respond to correspondence and phone calls with clients, government agencies, and other parties regarding trusts and estates
- Bachelor's degree and/or paralegal certificate with 5 years of experience in trust and estate administration
- Extensive knowledge of estate planning and the administration of trust and probate estates is recommended
- Proficiency in the common collection of Microsoft Office software, especially Microsoft Excel
- Familiarity with estate planning and tax preparation software is advantageous
- Strong organizational skills, detail-oriented, and the ability to manage several projects to completion on a deadline
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to interface with all levels within the firm and externally with clients and other professional advisors, as needed
