Responsibilities
Assist dentists during a variety of dental procedures, including general dentistry, prosthodontics, endodontics, and pediatric dentistry, by preparing treatment rooms and handing instruments efficiently. Manage patient flow by taking vital signs, recording medical history, and updating electronic medical records using Dentrix with accurate medical documentation. Operate dental imaging equipment ensuring high-quality images while adhering to HIPAA regulations for patient privacy. Support infection control protocols by practicing aseptic techniques, sterilizing instruments, and maintaining a clean clinical environment in accordance with OSHA standards. Provide chairside assistance with four-handed dentistry techniques, ensuring patients are comfortable and all necessary supplies are readily available.
Experience
Previous experience working in a dental clinic environment is highly preferred. Familiarity with EMR systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix is essential for efficient record management. Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and infection control practices ensures compliance with legal standards. Proficiency in dental terminology, anatomy knowledge, and medical terminology enhances communication within the team. Hands-on experience with X-ray procedures, medical imaging equipment, and aseptic techniques is advantageous. Bilingual candidates are preferred, but it is not required. Strong organizational skills in managing medical records and documentation are necessary for maintaining accurate patient files.
