Fenceworks, LLC is seeking an experienced Fence Installer with a strong background in iron fence installation and welding. This position is responsible for installing, repairing, and maintaining commercial, industrial, and residential fencing projects while ensuring the highest standards of quality, safety, and customer satisfaction. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with iron fencing systems, field welding, and construction site operations. Previous leadership or crew lead experience is highly desirable.
This is a physically demanding position that requires working outdoors in various weather conditions and traveling to job sites throughout the region.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Install ornamental iron fencing, gates, handrails, and related metal products according to project specifications and company standards.
- Perform field welding, fabrication, and modifications as needed during fence installation projects.
- Read and interpret blueprints, site plans, drawings, and project specifications.
- Set fence posts, align panels, install gates, and ensure proper operation of all components.
- Operate construction equipment and power tools safely and efficiently.
- Measure, cut, and fit fencing materials to ensure precise installation.
- Troubleshoot installation issues and make field adjustments as necessary.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment at all job sites.
- Load, unload, and transport materials, tools, and equipment.
- Communicate professionally with customers, project managers, and fellow team members.
- Follow all company safety policies and OSHA requirements.
- Assist with training and mentoring less experienced installers when applicable.
- Lead installation crews and coordinate job site activities when assigned.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of experience installing ornamental iron fencing.
- Demonstrated welding experience, including field welding and fabrication.
- Experience operating construction-related power tools and equipment.
- Ability to read a tape measure accurately and perform basic construction math.
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
- Ability to safely lift and carry 75 pounds on a regular basis.
- Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
- Strong work ethic, reliability, and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior leadership, foreman, or crew lead experience.
- Forklift, skid steer, or other equipment operation experience.
- Experience in commercial and industrial fencing projects.
Physical Requirements
- Frequently lift, carry, push, and pull materials weighing up to 75 pounds or more.
- Stand, walk, bend, kneel, squat, and climb for extended periods.
- Work outdoors in heat, cold, rain, and other environmental conditions.
- Ability to safely operate hand tools, power tools, and welding equipment.
