What are the responsibilities and job description for the Vineyard Worker position at Fence Stile Vineyards & Winery?
A vineyard and facility crew member is part of a team responsible for performing routine tasks required to maintain and care for grape vines working in all vineyard operations throughout the life cycle of the vine. Responsibilities:
¥ Winter pruning
¥ Spring suckering and thinning
¥ Summer vine care through the growing season
¥ Fall harvest
¥ Weed management using cultivation and hand weeding around the base of the vines
¥ Yard and parking lot maintenance
¥ Water plants & general patio upkeep
¥ Crush pad team member during harvest
¥ Facility maintenance under the guidance and direction of the facility manager
Qualifications:
¥ A strong work ethic
¥ Reliable transportation
¥ The ability to take direction and work independently.
¥ Be able to stand/kneel for long periods.
¥ Be fit, able to lift, pull, push, and carry 50 lbs
¥ The ability to work outside in all kinds of weather and conditions.
¥ Days of work and daily start times can vary depending on the weather and seasonality but will typically be weekdays with weekend work during harvest
¥ Yard or field experience preferred
¥ Must be able to follow all safety protocols.
¥ Have an interest in learning about plants and how to properly grow quality wine grapes.
¥ General experience with hand tools, and lawn care equipment.
¥ Must pass a background check

Your core skills in farming and agriculture will be essential as you engage in various tasks, including lawn care and equipment maintenance.
