We are seeking an experienced Counter Sales Associate to join our team. In this role, you will be the first point of contact for customers visiting our location, providing expert advice on fencing materials and solutions while ensuring excellent customer service. The ideal candidate will have construction material knowledge and be able to communicate effectively in both English and Spanish.
Key Responsibilities
* Greet and assist customers with product selection and purchasing decisions
* Provide detailed information about fencing products, including specifications, applications, and pricing
* Process sales transactions and prepare quotes for customers
* Maintain knowledge of current inventory and product availability including: lumber, ornamental iron, vinyl, glass, chain-link, and equestrian fence
* Coordinate with warehouse staff to ensure timely order fulfillment
* Answer phone inquiries regarding products, pricing, and availability
* Assist with inventory management and product displays
* Build and maintain relationships with regular customers
* Support special order processes and follow-up
Qualifications
* Previous experience in construction material sales (Home Depot, Lowe's, or similar retail environment)
* Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish (required)
* Knowledge of fencing materials, construction terminology, and building practices
* Strong customer service skills and professional demeanor
* Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment
* Basic computer skills for inventory and point-of-sale systems
* High school diploma or equivalent (minimum)
