About the Role
The CNC Operator is responsible for running three CNC machines in a fast‑paced, high‑growth production environment. This role focuses on maximizing machine uptime, maintaining consistent product quality, and keeping workflow moving efficiently across all three machines. The ideal candidate is organized, self‑directed, and thrives in a setting where efficiency and precision matter.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate three CNC machines simultaneously, ensuring continuous workflow and minimal downtime.
- Perform basic daily maintenance at the start of each shift (cleaning, lubrication, checks).
- Load raw material sheets onto machines and verify correct cutting performance throughout each job.
- Stage, organize, and move finished product from the CNC area to the appropriate staging zones.
- Maintain a clean, organized CNC work area throughout the shift and ensure full cleanup at end of day.
- Stock and restock raw materials in the staging area to set the next operator up for success.
- Dispose of off‑cuts and scrap material appropriately.
- Manage a daily cut list while also handling expedited job requests from other team leads during the day shift.
- Work independently for most of the shift, with smooth handoff and communication during shift changes.
- Monitor machine performance and escalate issues when needed to prevent downtime.
- Ensure all cut files are pulled correctly and verify accuracy before running jobs.
Required Qualifications
- 1–3 years of CNC operating experience (Zünd experience preferred but not required).
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Ability to stand for an entire shift and lift 50 lbs repeatedly.
- Ability to bend, reach overhead, and move materials safely.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high‑quality, QC‑controlled product.
- Ability to manage multiple machines and tasks simultaneously without sacrificing accuracy.
- Comfortable working in a fast‑paced production environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Forklift certification (or willingness to obtain).
- Experience in a 24/5 or high‑throughput manufacturing environment.
- Familiarity with digital cut files, NAS file access, or similar workflows.
Performance Expectations
- Machine uptime is the primary metric for success.
- Efficiently move product through all three machines with minimal idle time.
- Maintain consistent product quality with low scrap rates.
- Keep the CNC area clean, organized, and fully stocked for the next shift.
- Communicate effectively with other team leads when expedited jobs arise.

Schedule & Compensation
