Summary:
The Assistant Elementary School Principal partners with the Elementary School Principal to lead faculty and staff, support students, and ensure the effective day-to-day operation of the school. This role advances academic excellence, fosters a Christ-centered culture, and promotes a safe, organized, and engaging learning environment for all students and staff.
Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in Educational Leadership or a related field
- Valid leadership certification/licensure preferred
- Minimum of 5 years of teaching experience (elementary experience preferred)
- Strong communication, leadership, and conflict-resolution skills
- Demonstrated ability to mentor, coach, and lead teams effectively

Core Responsibilities:
1. Instructional Leadership:
- Conduct regular classroom observations, learning walks, and feedback cycles to support instructional excellence
- Mentor and coach teachers, providing actionable feedback and growth plans
- Support curriculum implementation and alignment with school standards
- Analyze student data to inform instructional practices and academic decisions
- Assist in faculty evaluation and professional development processes
2. Student Life & Culture:
- Oversee student behavior using restorative and developmentally appropriate practices
- Promote and model a positive, Christ-centered school culture
- Ensure student safety, well-being, and supervision throughout the school day
- Respond to student discipline matters and partner with staff and families on solutions
- Collaborate with counseling and support staff on student needs and interventions
3. Spiritual Leadership:
- Model Christian faith, integrity, and character in all interactions
- Support spiritual formation of students and staff through relationships, chapel, and school initiatives
- Partner with faculty to integrate biblical worldview into instruction and school life
4. Operations & School Management:
- Assist in developing and maintaining the master schedule
- Provide visible leadership presence during key times (carpool, lunch, transitions, and instructional periods)
- Oversee safety drills and emergency preparedness procedures
- Support facility operations and address campus needs
- Coordinate standardized testing and related logistics
- Assist with attendance oversight and reporting
5. Communication & Community Engagement:
- Serve as a liaison between school and families, fostering strong relationships
- Meet with parents, students, and staff to address questions, concerns, and feedback
- Support and collaborate with the Parent-Teacher Fellowship (PTF)
- Participate in school events and community-building activities
- Assist with the admissions process by conducting family interviews, reviewing student records, determining student classroom placement, and assessment data to determine appropriate fit and placement, and supporting enrollment events such as Open House and campus tours
6. Leadership & Administration:
- Serve as acting Principal in the absence of the Elementary Principal
- Collaborate regularly with the Principal on school strategy, culture, and operations
- Support hiring, onboarding, mentoring, and retention of faculty and staff
- Managing and leading the Elementary Teacher Assistants
- Ensure adherence to school policies, procedures, and accreditation standards
- Maintain the highest levels of professionalism, confidentiality, and ethical leadership
- Demonstrate consistent punctuality, reliability, and initiative
Physical Qualifications:
● Regularly required to listen, physically direct, and speak
● Position requiring mobility, including bending, lifting (up to 25 lbs.), pushing, walking
● Use of hands and finger to manipulate office equipment, handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms
● Specific vision abilities required including close vision, distant vision, color vision and depth perception
● Must be capable of standing and/or sitting at a computer for extended periods of time, be capable of repetitive movements of wrists, hands and fingers
● Must be capable of occasionally carrying and moving small objects
Working Environment:
● The work environment is usually moderately quiet; however, variations in noise level may occur when employee attends school functions such as assemblies and other events
● The environment may be stressful and hectic at times with frequent interruptions, multiple distractions, and changing priorities
● This position is primarily an administrative position performing duties in a typical office setting and thus is exposed to minimal adverse working conditions
