Description
The Powder Paint & Finishing Technician is responsible for the application of powder paint, and final assembly of trailers to meet quality standards and production deadlines.
Essential Specific Job Duties:
1. Load and prepare trailers and parts for powder coating by following move ticket and shop copy instructions.
2. Have a general understanding of paint line system, including recipes and shut down procedures.
3. Set up and operate powder coating guns and equipment.
4. Apply powder coatings according to color and thickness specifications.
5. Perform color changes and end of shift cleaning to prevent contamination.
6. Meets production deadlines and notifies Supervisor of any production delays.
7. Striping and touch up duties as needed.
8. Reads and interprets blueprints, shop drawings, checklists and job packet information in order to assemble trailers and/or components correctly.
9. Assembles parts/units to customer specifications and tolerances.
10. Installs decking and all bolt on accessories on trailers (cuts decking as needed).
11. Installs basic electrical components on trailers.
12. Reviews trailer checklist to assure all tasks are completed before moving trailer onto finalInspection.
13. Adheres to quality standards at all times.
14. Follow safety procedures, including the use of PPE, at all times.
15. Improves self in any way possible to enhance job performance.
16. Maintains cleanliness of the powder coat booths, spray guns, and surrounding work areas.
