What are the responsibilities and job description for the Vice President of Sales position at Feit Electric?
About the Role
We're looking for a dynamic, results-driven Vice President of Sales to own and lead our entire sales department — from strategy to execution. This is a high-impact leadership role for someone who thrives at the intersection of people, process, and performance. You'll take the wheel on building a best-in-class sales organization while managing key customer relationships across the hardware, grocery, and big box retail channels.
If you're energized by leading large teams, obsessed with operational excellence, and know how to turn data into deals — this is your role.
Key Responsibilities
Sales Leadership & Team Development
- Lead, inspire, and manage a high-performing sales department of 30 employees spanning inside sales, account management, customer service, logistics, and distribution.
- Attract, develop, and retain top talent — from recruiting and onboarding to ongoing coaching, performance reviews, and career development planning.
- Set clear, measurable performance goals and create a culture of accountability, growth, and continuous improvement.
Key Account Management
- Serve as a senior point of contact for strategic accounts across hardware, grocery, and big box retail channels (e.g., Home Depot, Lowe's, Sams Club, Walmart, Target, Ace, Menards).
- Build and maintain long-term partnerships built on trust, superior service, and consistent execution.
- Lead product line reviews, customer presentations, promotional planning, and quarterly business reviews (QBRs) with key retail partners.
Revenue & Operations Strategy
- Own the end-to-end sales operations process — from order management and SKU-level product allocation to forecasting, channel planning, and market execution.
- Proactively identify revenue risks and opportunities, and partner with Sales Leadership to course-correct in real time.
- Act as the central liaison between Sales, Warehouse Operations, and Supply Chain to align on forecasts, pricing, promotions, and KPIs.
Data, Technology & Process Improvement
- Champion a data-first culture — leverage POS analytics, customer scorecards, and market insights to drive smarter, faster decisions.
- Monitor real-time customer metrics including POS sales vs. forecasts, on-time delivery rates, chargebacks, and compliance fines.
- Identify and implement technology solutions in partnership with IT to streamline workflows, reduce friction, and improve operational efficiency across the department.
What You Bring
- 7 years of progressive sales operations or sales management experience, including 3 years leading teams of 30 or more.
- Deep experience managing key accounts with major hardware, grocery, and/or big box retailers — you know how these channels work and what they expect.
- Proven track record in consumer packaged goods (CPG) — you understand the retail landscape, buyer relationships, and the metrics that matter.
- Strong analytical chops — you're fluent in Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, complex formulas) and comfortable building and presenting data-driven business cases.
- Excellent communicator and presenter — you can rally a room whether it's your team of 30 or a C-suite buyer meeting.
- Highly organized, solutions-oriented, and able to manage competing priorities without losing momentum.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite; experience with CRM or retail analytics platforms is a plus.
- Bachelor's degree required; MBA or equivalent experience a plus.
