Overview:

The Safety Coordinator / HR Administrator plays a dual role supporting not only workplace safety and human resources functions within the Distribution Center. This position is responsible for promoting a safe, compliant work environment while also supporting employees through HR administration, onboarding, and daily operational needs. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, proactive, and passionate about employee well-being and regulatory compliance.

Key Responsibilities:

Safety Responsibilities

• Compliance & Training:
• Enforce workplace safety policies and procedures.
• Conduct and coordinate OSHA-required safety training.

• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.

• Inspections & Audits:

• Perform regular facility safety inspections and jobsite audits.

• Document findings and drive corrective actions.

• Incident Management:

• Investigate accidents, injuries, and near misses.

• Prepare incident reports and recommend prevention strategies.

• Program Development:

• Develop, implement, and maintain workplace safety programs.

• Support continuous improvement of safety culture and practices.

• Hazard Identifications:

• Monitor work areas for potential hazards.
• Recommend and follow up on corrective measures.

Human Resources Responsibilities

• Employee Support:
• Assist employees with inquiries related to benefits, payroll, and HR policies.

• Provide general administrative support to HR operations.

• Recruitment & Onboarding:

• Support hiring processes, including posting jobs, screening candidates, and coordinating interviews setting up temporary staff members.

• Manage onboarding tasks and ensure new hires integrate smoothly into the team.

• Event Coordination:

• Plan and support company events, safety meetings, and employee engagement activities.

• Policy Implementation:

• Communicate HR and company policies effectively.

• Support supervisors with policy enforcement and adherence.

• Other Duties:

• Be able to back up transportation clerks when needs are required due scheduled or unscheduled time off from work.
• Other duties may be assigned within the general scope of the position.

Qualifications:

• Experience in workplace safety, HR administration, or a related field preferred.
• Knowledge of OSHA regulations and safety practices.
• Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and HR systems is a plus.
• Experience in a distribution center operations.
