Position Overview: Feigi Katz & Associates is seeking a Child Psychotherapist to join our team. Clinical therapy services include treatment of children struggling due to anxiety, trauma, grief, dysregulation or a lack of connectedness.
About Feigi Katz & Associates: We are a small group private practice in North Miami Beach, FL, specializing in play therapy and child and adolescent treatment.
We use a wide range of evidence-based modalities to help our clients (and their parents) do the deep work of healing, and we tailor our approach to each client's unique needs. We believe that confusing or problematic behaviors are a form of communication, revealing deeper feelings and needs that require attention and understanding.
Duties/Responsibilities:
● Perform on-site clinical counseling services to patients and their parents.
● Conduct and regulate counseling services in a skilled and professional manner to maintain and increase the good will and reputation of Feigi Katz & Associates.
● Regular and reliable attendance and timely arrival to work is required.
● Be properly licensed and abide by all laws, rules, regulations, and codes of ethics that are binding upon or applicable to the services performed.
● Respond to patients’ requests for service or calls within 24 hours whether such requests
are made in person, by phone, voicemail, etc. Respond to such requests by meeting,
evaluating, and providing services to such patients.
● Communicate with a patient’s treatment team (i.e., PCP, psychiatrist, school, etc.) as
necessary.
● Timely complete written records for each patient including, but not limited to: intake
notes, progress notes, treatment plans, termination notes, contract notes, and other
forms or documents which may be needed or required from time-to-time.
● Keep patient files accurate and up to date.
● Attend mandatory staff meetings, supervision and trainings.
● Be respectful of and cooperative and collaborative with co-workers.
● Passion for working with others (being collaborative) and helping our team members
grow and learn.
● Meet with 20 clients per week and have 25 open spots available per week.
● Be available a minimum of two evenings per week or one evening and Sunday (8 hours total) per
week. Evening hours are identified until 8pm.
● Other duties may be assigned.
Qualifications and Skills:
● Align with our mission, vision, and values. We service many clients from the Orthodox Jewish community. Therapists must be culturally sensitive and committed to dressing in a modest manner while at work.
● Must be punctual in reporting to work.
● Master’s Degree or Doctoral Degree in counseling or social work; and active, unrestricted license (PhD, PsyD, LCSW, LMFT or LMHC) in the State of Florida. A copy of license must be provided.
● Available to hold at least 25 patient sessions per week, provided such sessions are
available and referred/scheduled by our practice.
● Be organized and detail oriented.
● Be committed to professional development and ongoing learning in the field of child psychotherapy.
● Be a team player.
● Be able to work independently on tasks assigned.
● Have strong written and verbal communication skills and strong interpersonal skills.
● At least two years’ clinical experience in child therapy.
