You’ll work alongside experienced Survey Party Chiefs, gaining real-world experience with equipment, field operations, and job-site coordination—all while contributing to projects that shape communities.
What You’ll Do
Support Field Operations
- Assist the Survey Party Chief with daily surveying activities
- Work as part of a field crew to keep projects moving efficiently
- Follow direction and contribute to a safe, productive work environment
- Gain experience with:
- Boundary, topographic, and control surveys
- Mortgage and as-built surveys
- Construction staking and layout
- Learn proper surveying methods, measurements, and field procedures
- Operate survey equipment under supervision and assist with maintenance
- Help prepare tools and supplies before heading to job sites
- Record clear and accurate field notes and observations
- Identify and communicate any data quality or safety concerns
- Complete assigned tasks with attention to detail and efficiency
- High school diploma
- Willingness to work outdoors in varying weather and terrain
- Ability to follow direction and work as part of a team
- Strong attention to detail and basic problem-solving skills
- Valid driver’s license (or ability to obtain one)
- Exposure to surveying or construction environments
- Familiarity with Topcon equipment
- Basic computer skills for time and expense reporting
- Interest in growing into roles such as Survey Technician or Party Chief
- Field-based role with work in varying terrain and weather conditions
- Monday–Friday schedule, with occasional weekends or travel as needed
- Reliability and strong work ethic
- Clear communication with crew members and supervisors
- Attention to detail and willingness to learn
- Consistent, safe, and efficient field performance
This Role Requires The Ability To
- Walk and work across varied terrain for extended periods
- Lift and carry survey equipment
- Operate instruments outdoors in different weather conditions
- Maintain stamina throughout the workday
- Communicate clearly with team members
- Pre-employment drug screening required; subject to random testing per job site requirements
