About The Role
FEI is seeking a licensed Professional Engineer (PE) to serve as a Civil Project Manager supporting land development projects from concept through completion. This is a client-facing leadership role responsible for technical quality, regulatory coordination, project financials, and team management.
This position is not intended for EITs or unlicensed engineers.

About The Role

Key Responsibilities
- Serve as Engineer-of-Record and Project Manager on land development projects
- Ensure project quality, efficiency, and compliance with standards of practice and company policy
- Lead client relationships and coordinate with regulatory agencies
- Manage budgets, schedules, and project accountability
- Oversee and mentor Assistant Project Managers and Technicians
- Prepare and review plans, reports, specifications, permits, and construction documents
- Lead or attend meetings with clients, municipalities, boards, and agencies
- Utilize AutoCAD Civil 3D for site design including:
- Subdivisions, grading, erosion control
- Water, sewer, and stormwater systems
- Stormwater management and final plats
- Coordinate permitting with outside agencies
- Active North Carolina Professional Engineer (PE) license (required)
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering (ABET-accredited)
- 5 years of land development engineering experience
- 2 years of project or people management experience
- Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D
- Strong communication, organization, and leadership skills
- Valid North Carolina Driver’s License
- Ajera or similar financial/project management software
- Client-facing consulting experience
- Familiarity with land surveying principles
- Relationship-driven culture with real project ownership
- Leadership role with decision-making authority
- Stable workload and predictable schedule Mon–Thu 7:30am–5:30pm | Fri 7:30am–11:30am
