- SUMMARY:
The Manager of Production will oversee production staff to ensure efficiency and quality in production operations.
- ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Cooperates with other top management personnel in formulating and establishing site specific policies, operating procedures, and goals pertaining to maintaining or exceeding customer quality requirements
- Leads the Production team and serves as the management representative for production related matters, supervise production supervisors for two to three-shift operation
- Strategically place and alter daily work due to attendance
- Responsible for controlling headcounts and lean work of production floor
- Monitor shift activity for payroll through ADP payroll processing this includes overtime, PTO, and employee break structure.
- Responsible for consistent and accurate shift to shift production communication
- Responsible for maintaining a safe and clean work environment ensuring that all safety instructions are followed
- Review production schedules to make decisions concerning inventory, staffing, work procedures, and job assignments while communicating with Materials department
- Develop, recommend, and implement measures to improve production methods, equipment performance, and quality of product.
- Inspect parts and products to verify conformance to specifications
- Communicate with technical or administrative staff to resolve production and processing problems, and improve existing processes that effect production. Suggest changes in working conditions and use of equipment to increase efficiency of shop, department, or work crew
- In concert with Human Resources, provides Production related training for employees in the Production department.
- Enforce quality control systems to meet customers’ expectations, participates in IATF quality guidelines and initiatives for the plant
- Participates in the APQP and PPAP process
- Knowledge in SAP Conduct audits and assessments to identify potential areas of risk and develop mitigation strategies. Understand and maintain audit compliance as it relates to the Production Manager function. This would include the most currently applicable IATF 16949, ISO, and TISAX standard.
- Follow all safety protocols and guidelines established by the company. Encourage safe practices and a safety-first mindset among coworkers
- Participates in corrective and/or preventive measures and the follows up of such measures
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Hires and trains front-line employees.
- Organizes, directs, and oversees the schedules and work of front-line employees.
- Provides constructive and timely performance evaluations.
- Handles discipline and termination of employees in accordance with company policy.

- EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
Employee must have working knowledge of manufacturing. The individual will be responsible for leading production systems, overseeing the continuous improvement of the manufacturing process and executing long term strategic plans. Must be self-motivated and possess well developed leadership skills.
Minimum Requirement:
- High School Diploma/GED
- Associates Degree in related field or equivalent industry work experience required.
Preferred:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Management, Engineering, Business, or related field preferred.
- Three years of supervisory experience highly preferred.
- LANGUAGE SKILLS:
Ability to read, analyzes, and interprets basic instructions and required documents. Has the ability to respond and communicate complicated instruction and basic directions.
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
- Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
- MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:
Ability to comprehend and apply principles of basic mathematics.
- REASONING ABILITY:
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
