What you’ll do
As a Senior Project Engineer, you’ll lead the design and technical execution of private development projects, including residential subdivisions, commercial sites and industrial parks. You’ll also:
- Prepare and oversee design plans, specifications and cost estimates.
- Support land development and acquisition processes by evaluating site feasibility, zoning, permitting and regulatory requirements.
- Manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Collaborate with clients, developers, contractors and municipalities.
- Mentor and give technical guidance to junior engineers, designers and technicians.
- Conduct site visits, observe construction and coordinate with field staff.
- Build client relationships.
- Identify opportunities for new or repeat work.
Ideally, you’ll have a bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related field. If you have six or more years of experience in civil engineering, with an emphasis in private development and land development, we want to talk. A Professional Engineer (PE) license is required or the ability to obtain one within six months. Ideally, you will also:
- Be proficient in design software, especially AutoCAD Civil 3D. (Knowledge of GIS and other planning tools a plus.)
- Demonstrate understanding of permitting, zoning and land acquisition processes.
- Speak and write well.
- Have strong interpersonal skills with the ability to lead teams.
- Coordinate with diverse stakeholders.
- Have strong problem-solving skills and the ability to manage competing priorities.
