What are the responsibilities and job description for the Sales Analytics & Category Manager position at Feel Good Foods?
Company Description
Feel Good Foods is a frozen food brand with crave-worthy, chef-crafted, gluten-free appetizers and breakfast foods. From Mozzarella Sticks to Pancake Balls, our frozen snacks and breakfasts are helping millions of people “feel good” about what’s in their freezer.
Our positioning is simple: we’re a feel-good frozen snack brand that happens to be gluten-free. We lead with taste, not dietary restriction. 70% of our consumers are mainstream shoppers who choose us because the food is good, not because they need it to be gluten-free. You can find us at Walmart, Whole Foods, Sprouts, Costco, Kroger, Target, and growing.
We are a rapidly growing team headquartered in downtown Manhattan, home to a fast-paced, social, and innovative office environment. We offer competitive benefits, including 80% coverage for medical/dental / vision and a Discretionary Time Off policy. We prioritize the well-being of our employees, providing allowances for wellness and training & development, and keeping our office stocked with premium snacks.
Role Description
We're looking for a Sales Analytics & Category Manager to join our commercial team and become the analytical backbone of our sales organization. This role reports to the VP of Strategy & Growth and works hand-in-hand with our SVP of Sales and the broader sales team on a daily basis.
What You'll Do
- Weekly Commercial Scorecards: Build and own velocity scorecards comparing performance against benchmarks. Design the reporting cadence: scorecards for the sales team, business reviews for leadership, and periodic board-prep packages. You're responsible for making sure nobody in the commercial org is surprised by commercial performance.
- Forecast Analytics & Demand Intelligence Own the analytical layer of our demand planning system. Run monthly POS reconciliations against syndicated data, retailer depletion data, and portal data to validate forecast accuracy. Build analyses showing forecast movement drivers by customer and SKU. Maintain velocity assumptions by retailer, flag gaps between forecast and actuals, and provide the data foundation for S&OP. You won't own the forecast itself, but you'll be the person who tells us whether it's tracking well.
- Syndicated Data & Category Management Own and operate our syndicated data ecosystem: SPINS, NielsenIQ, and various retailer portals. Build competitive dashboards, maintain custom category definitions, and run monthly refreshes. Translate raw data into selling stories: category share, velocity rankings, competitive share, distribution runway, and retailer-specific proof points. Maintain a living sales argument library so every seller has current, data-backed ammunition for every account.
- Sales Deck Development & Storytelling Create and maintain retailer-facing presentations, line reviews, new item sell sheets, and category management materials. Turn data into visual narratives that win shelf space. You'll help build the decks our team presents to buyers at the biggest retailers in America. When a new item launches, you own the data-backed targeting rationale: which retailers, which regions, what velocity to expect, and why.
- Retailer Portal Fluency & Account-Level Intelligence Navigate and extract insights from portals such as Walmart Scintilla, Whole Foods / Amazon Quicksight, Kroger 84.51, Target POL, and distributor portals (UNFI, KeHE). Proactively surface distribution gaps, velocity changes, and promotional ROI at the account level.
- Cross-Functional Analytics Support Partner with finance on trade analysis and opportunity sizing. Support innovation launches with velocity benchmarking, retailer targeting, and post-launch performance tracking. Provide analytical support for annual planning, board prep, and strategic initiatives. You'll regularly interface with our CEO, CFO, and SVP of Sales, not just the commercial team.
Who You Are
You have 4 or more years of experience in CPG commercial analytics, category management, sales strategy, or a related function. You've worked with syndicated data (SPINS, Nielsen, IRI/Circana) extensively and can build a compelling retailer story from a raw data pull. You're comfortable in Excel and PowerPoint.
You come from a branded CPG company ideally in the better-for-you, natural, or frozen space. You understand the rhythm of a sales organization: line reviews, new item submissions, promo planning, category resets. You've built decks that have been presented to buyers at major retailers.
You're organized, self-directed, and comfortable operating in a fast-paced environment where priorities shift. You don't wait to be asked for the analysis; you see the gap and fill it.
Bonus Points
- Experience with frozen, snacking, or better-for-you categories
- Familiarity with natural channel dynamics (UNFI, KeHE, Whole Foods, Sprouts)
- Experience supporting a national sales team across conventional natural channels
- Comfort with demand planning concepts and shipment-vs-consumption analysis
