Position Overview
In response to rapid growth and industry-leading goals, the Director of Food Industry Partnerships is a key position ensuring CTFB can achieve its strategic vision. This position plays a pivotal role in all aspects of the food system, understanding food supply chain, agribusiness, brokering, retailing and wholesaling as it relates to the food industry. The Director of Food Industry Partnerships will formulate and execute strategies aimed at the successful procurement of donated food from grocers, distributors, farmers, growers, and manufacturers on behalf of CTFB, with purchasing only as a last-resort supplement to the overall donated sourcing strategy. The Director of Food Industry Partnerships oversees and guides the Food Industry Team to ensure the organization’s and community’s food needs are met.
Working Conditions
Hours of Operation: Generally Monday – Friday 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m., some evening and weekend hours may be required, especially during peak times, disaster response, or holidays. Ability to be flexible with working hours to meet the needs of the program is critical
Environment: This position works in a typical office setting. There may be extended periods of sitting, standing and/or bending; listening, talking and/or visual concentration; writing and/or computer use. Occasional work will occur in the warehouse or outside in inclement weather. The position also requires working independently and with others on a team.
Travel: CTFB serves 21 counties in central Texas and often requires same-day travel between counties, using a personal vehicle, CTFB passenger fleet and possibly occasional out of town travel for meetings, special events or meeting for some positions.

Job responsibilities
Oversee and manage all inbound food sourcing activities across all product and acquisition types for the entire organization, with a focus on donations first.
Collaborate with the Network Services and Client Services teams to ensure food offerings best meet our strategic initiatives.
Oversee the management of all vendor and food donor relationships, including negotiating product and freight cost.
Develop and manage a comprehensive prospecting, solicitation and stewardship strategy for all food industry relationships, deepening their involvement with CTFB.
Collaborate with Feeding America, Feeding Texas and other key stakeholders to support food acquisition.
Manage, develop, coach and train a team of direct reports to meet organization, department and individual performance goals, holding the team accountable to meet objectives and ensure alignment with organizations values.
Ensure timely and accurate reporting in support of grant, government, funder, and organization timelines.
Work closely with the Communications and Community Investment teams to develop compelling messaging and collateral to inspire food industry partnerships.
Advocate for the wellbeing and outcomes of the neighbors that CTFB serves each day.
Set the example for a professional and high performance culture by maintaining a positive work attitude, communicating courteously, and creating a culture of service with all stakeholders: clients, donors, community partners and co-workers in accordance with CTFB’s values.
Conduct routine analysis and communication of acquisition status; programs; food industry trends (agricultural, retail and other commodity markets); best practices and other key indicators of food acquisition, storage and material handling.

Requirements
Your Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree, preferably in Agribusiness, Environmental System, or other related field.
Minimum of 10 years’ food industry experience, preferably in food sales or food procurement.
Minimum of seven years’ experience managing, developing, motivating, and coaching high-performing teams.
Have the ability to work cooperatively with other Food Bank staff and external stakeholders with a wide variety of backgrounds, experiences and communication styles.
Will represent the Food Bank in a professional manner under a variety of conditions.
Experience in handling complex budgets, food procurement and master purchase orders.
Demonstrated understanding of agribusiness, growing trends, and produce processing.
Demonstrated knowledge of supply chain, food systems, brokering, retailing, wholesaling and tertiary markets.
Demonstrated success in relationship building and management.
Experience in establishing and executing sound business practices and metrics including planning and analysis.
Highly organized with ability to successfully multi-task and meet deadlines.
Effective communications skills, able to speak publicly and give presentations.
