Summary: The Partner Relations Manager oversees and strengthens Feeding America Riverside San Bernardino’s (FARSB) partner network to maximize relationships, resources, and community impact while ensuring compliance with FARSB standards, donor guidelines, and food safety requirements. The Partner Relations Manager is responsible for fostering strong relationships with community partners, identifying opportunities for network growth, and ensuring the efficient, equitable, and effective distribution of food and resources to individuals and families experiencing food insecurity.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Oversees the partner application, orientation, onboarding, and agreement processes for new partner organizations.
  • Identifies and recruits new partners in targeted service areas to expand food distribution and increase community impact.
  • Builds and maintains positive relationships with community partners, stakeholders, and community leaders.
  • Collaborates across departments to ensure cohesive partner engagement, communication, and service delivery.
  • Empowers and trains staff to work effectively and respectfully with community partners while fostering a culture of collaboration and customer service.
  • Supports partners in increasing capacity and enhancing services through active problem-solving, innovation, and communication.
  • Handles partner concerns and complaints professionally, working toward mutually beneficial solutions.
  • Serves as the primary liaison for Riverside County Partners and provides oversight and support for partner engagement activities across both Riverside and San Bernardino Counties.
  • Conducts and oversees partner site visits to monitor facilities within Riverside County, strengthen relationships, ensuring compliance with food safety, FARSB’s regulations, and contractual requirements.
  • Conducting partner site visits to deepen relationships, strengthen communications, and provide feedback on programming.
  • Collaborates effectively and efficiently inter-departmentally within the food bank.
  • Allocate available resources based on program knowledge and partner needs to ensure efficient and equitable distribution.
  • Inform Partners of available resources and determine appropriate distribution to ensure efficient use of FARSB’s resources.
  • Monitor the use of those resources by partners and conduct follow-ups when necessary.
  • Maintains accurate partner records, databases, reports, and documentation, including partner statistics and account updates.
  • Develops and maintains collaborative partnerships with other local non-profit organizations, entities to strengthen regional hunger relief efforts.
  • Participate, lead, and support continued training for our partners in various areas, including but not limited to food safety, partner orientation, county network meetings, and the annual Partner Conference.
  • *Maintains partner and related databases assuring accurate and complete data and service information.
  • *Provide input to partner communications, including email blasts, newsletter content and design.
  • Be Servsafe certified, within Introduction Period, for knowledge awareness, food safety, and handling standards.
  • Performs other tasks as assigned by the Director of Partner Relations.

Personnel Management and Supervision:

  • Leads hiring, training and supervision of team members, including paid staff and volunteers/interns.
  • Supports team members by: establishing performance objectives and measuring progress toward goals; leading team meetings; developing team members’ skills and abilities, both individually and as a group, in order to increase effectiveness; and ensuring that employees have access to the resources needed to be successful.
  • Provides counseling/coaching to ensure successful performance, and utilizes performance
  • management processes as necessary, including use of proper documentation.
  • Ensures partner-related Standard Operating Procedures are reviewed and updated annually.
  • Serves as back-up to all supervised staff positions on an emergency basis.
  • Conducts performance reviews on a timely basis in compliance with FARSB policy.

Other Duties Include:

  • Actively participate in scheduled Membership Committee and collaborative network meetings.
  • Network with other social service and food assistance organizations by attending meetings, making referrals, and speaking at events to ensure greater Food Bank awareness of issues and visibility.
  • Attend conferences, workshops and other related events to promote continuous quality improvement of Partner relations.
  • Attends and/or presents at conferences, meetings, and seminars as assigned/requested.

Qualifications:

  • Bilingual English/Spanish is required
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Self-starter with the ability, confidence, and good judgment to move projects forward with minimal supervision from direct Supervisor.
  • Time management and organizational skills. Proficient in handling multiple tasks and timelines.
  • Flexible and adaptable to change. Understand that non-profit work is constantly evolving and be comfortable with shifting priorities
  • Displays strong communication and team player skills
  • Displays a clear understanding of professional behavior and etiquette
  • Meets or exceeds goals, or diligently works to course correct when needed
  • Advance relationship-building skills
  • Ability to work with people of diverse backgrounds.
  • Experience working with a non-profit program or equivalent
  • Computer proficiency in Microsoft Office: Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint

Physical Demands/Environmental Factors/Organization Requirements:

  • Ability to lift 25 pounds to carry equipment and supplies as needed
  • Driving throughout San Bernardino County to visit partner distribution locations
  • Valid Driver’s License and Insurance
  • Extended periods of sitting while working on a phone and computer
  • Indoor office environment and indoor warehouse environment with moderate noise at the food bank location
  • Office hours are 7:00 am-3:30 pm, possible evening and weekend hours
