Position Title: General Warehouse - AIB Sanitation

Reports To: Warehouse Supervisor

Status: Part-Time (24 hours), Non–Exempt, Hourly $18.00

Position Summary: The General Warehouse – AIB Sanitation is responsible for performing a variety of heavy cleaning and equipment maintenance tasks to maintain the American Institute of Baking (AIB) standards. This maintenance includes but not limited to warehouse, parking areas, walkways, stairwells, and other assigned areas in a clean, sanitary, safe, and good operating condition in accordance with maintenance and cleaning procedures, pest control, and safety policies.

Responsibilities and Duties:

• Ensure American Institute of Baking (AIB) standards are maintained
• Perform general cleaning duties to ensure a clean and safe work environment
• Sweep and mop floors
• Empty trash receptacles and dispose of waste properly
• Dust and wipe down surfaces
• Maintain all daily documentation from assigned areas for record-keeping
• Performing heavy and specialized cleaning tasks throughout the building and grounds
• Assisting team members in other functional areas of the warehouse and/or office
• Communicating ideas and issues of concern in a timely manner and making positive suggestions for improvement
• Adhering to all safe work practices while working efficiently with minimal direct supervision
• Completing facility upkeep, painting, and other building repair tasks
• Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

• Knowledge of facilities maintenance and industrial cleaning procedures
• Strategic thinking, with the ability to multi-task facilities and AIB duties
• Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain cleanliness standards
• Good writing and verbal communication skills
• Excellent time management skills
• Maintains a positive and solutions-based attitude
• Displays strong communication and team player skills
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and guidance
• Displays a clear understanding of professional behavior and etiquette
• Prior food bank or warehouse experience preferred, but not required

Physical Demands/Environmental Factors/Organization Requirements

• Ability to lift 25 pounds
• Regularly required to stand, walk, reach, use hands
• Required to use pallet jacks, forklifts, floor scrubber and related equipment
• Warehouse environment with moderate noise at food bank location
• Valid driver’s license and insurance
• High school diploma
• Proficiency with Microsoft Windows and office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook) and standard office equipment
