We’re looking for: An organized, curious, and mission-driven professional who is eager to launch a career in nonprofit fundraising. In this role, you will support the full grant lifecycle by researching funding opportunities, assisting with proposal and report development, coordinating deadlines, and collaborating with colleagues across the organization. This role is ideal for a recent college graduate or someone looking to build a career in grant writing, nonprofit development, or philanthropy.

What you’ll do:

The Grants Associate supports the organization’s grant fundraising efforts by providing administrative, research, and writing assistance throughout the full grants lifecycle. Working under the direction of the Grants Manager, this position helps prepare proposals and reports, track deadlines, maintain grant records, and support cross-departmental collaboration to ensure accurate, timely, and compelling submissions to foundations, corporations, and government funders.

This role is ideal for a detail-oriented, organized individual interested in nonprofit fundraising, writing, and compliance.

Grant Administration & Tracking (25%)

  • Assist with tracking grant opportunities, deadlines, submissions, and reporting requirements using grants management systems and internal trackers
  • Maintain accurate electronic grant files, including proposals, contracts, award letters, budgets, and reports
  • Support calendar management for grant deadlines and internal deliverables

Proposal & Report Support (25%)

  • Assist in drafting, editing, and formatting grant proposals, letters of inquiry, and reports
  • Gather program data, outcomes, budgets, and supporting documentation from internal departments
  • Proofread grant materials for accuracy, clarity, and funder compliance

Funder Research & Stewardship (25%)

  • Conduct prospect research on foundations, corporations, and government funding opportunities aligned with organizational priorities
  • Conduct research on relevant topics to proposals
  • Help prepare briefing materials for funder meetings and site visits
  • Support stewardship efforts, including acknowledgment letters and impact updates

Internal Coordination (10%)

  • Communicate with Feed More staff to collect information needed for proposals and reports
  • Ensure consistency of organizational language, statistics, and messaging across grant materials

Compliance & Reporting (10%)

  • Assist with post-award reporting, including compiling metrics, narratives, and financial information
  • Help ensure compliance with funder requirements and internal grant policies

Other Duties (5%)

  • Provide general administrative support to the Development Team as needed
  • Assist with special projects related to institutional fundraising

Must have:

  • 2-5 years of relevant experience
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Strong written communication and editing skills
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to manage multiple deadlines and prioritize tasks
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office

Ideally, will have:

  • Previous nonprofit, grants, or administrative experience
  • Familiarity with grants management software (e.g., Raiser’s Edge, Foundant, Fluxx, Salesforce, Instrumentl)
  • Experience with AI tools like Asana, Claude, Microsoft CoPilot, etc.
  • Experience working with budgets or financial documents
  • Interest in nonprofit development or public service
