Security Architect – Consultant
Location: 4430 Broad River Rd, Columbia, SC 29210
Work Type: 75% Onsite / 25% Hybrid (schedule determined by manager)
Duration: 12 Months (Possible Extension)

About the Role
Client is seeking an experienced Security Architect (Consultant) to support critical enterprise security initiatives with a focus on Identity & Access Management (IAM) and security automation. This role directly supports the implementation, integration, and operationalization of enterprise security technologies across a large, complex IT environment.
Candidates must be current residents of the Columbia, SC area or willing to relocate within 125 miles at their own expense.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead Identity & Access Management (IAM) operations including Single Sign-On, MFA, Active Directory, and secure application integrations.
- Develop and implement automation solutions across enterprise security and IT tools using Python, Bash, or similar scripting languages.
- Design, develop, and implement enterprise-level security architectures aligned with business objectives and risk posture.
- Deploy and manage countermeasures for known and emerging security threats.
- Provide strategic security guidance and enforce consistent application of security controls across infrastructure, applications, and services.
- Ensure protection of state data, systems, and services through diligent security monitoring and mitigation strategies.
- Participate in onsite work activities that may require moving/lifting equipment up to 50 lbs.
Required Skills & Experience
- 5 years of experience with Identity & Access Management, access control, logging, and reporting systems.
- 5 years of hands-on automation development (Python, Bash, or related tools).
- Strong cybersecurity awareness and understanding of enterprise security operations.
- 5 years of experience with Linux, Windows, and network security protocols/procedures.
- Experience supporting large-scale IT environments and system deployments.
Preferred Skills
- SIEM analysis and reporting.
- Familiarity with security frameworks: NIST, CSF, CJIS, IRS 1075, CMS MARS-E.
- Application Security (AppSec) experience.
- Vendor certifications in SIEM/logging platforms.
Education & Certifications
Required:
- Bachelor’s degree in information technology, Information Security, or related field

- 8 years of relevant professional experience in lieu of degree
Preferred:
- CISSP, CISA, CISM, CEH, OSCP, GPEN, or equivalent cybersecurity certifications.
