Job Overview:
FedTec is seeking The Software Developer (Entry-Level, .NET) supports the design, development, testing, and maintenance of web and desktop applications using C#, .NET, and related technologies. Working under the guidance of senior developers, this role writes clean, maintainable code, assists with debugging, and participates in code reviews to support high-quality software delivery. The position collaborates with cross-functional teams and contributes to database development, API integration, and backend services. Ideal candidates possess a foundational understanding of .NET development, strong problem-solving abilities, and a desire to learn new tools and technologies. Exposure to Python, React.js, Node.js, SQL, and DevOps practices—through coursework or hands-on projects—is highly beneficial. This role also offers opportunities to work within a diverse technical environment, including GIS systems, cloud platforms, relational databases, web frameworks, and modern development tools.
Responsibilities:
- Develop, test, and maintain web and desktop applications using C#, .NET, ASP.NET, and related frameworks.
- Write clean, maintainable, and efficient code following best practices and coding standards.
- Assist senior developers with debugging, troubleshooting, and resolving software defects.
- Participate in peer code reviews to gain feedback and improve code quality.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams—including QA, product, and data teams—to deliver high-quality application features.
- Support the development of APIs, web services, and integration components.
- Work with relational databases such as Microsoft SQL Server, PostgreSQL, Amazon RDS, and Oracle PL/SQL to design, query, and maintain data structures.
- Contribute to front-end development using HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, jQuery, Angular, or other UI frameworks as needed.
- Gain exposure to DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, and tools such as Azure DevOps, AWS, and cloud-based deployment environments.
- Assist with configuration and maintenance of application environments (IIS, Apache, Tomcat, JBoss, WebSphere).
- Support spatial and GIS-related development tasks using ArcSDE, ArcGIS Server, and ArcGIS Online.
- Develop or support reporting solutions using SSIS, SSRS, Crystal Reports, or Business Objects.
- Follow secure coding practices and maintain compliance with organizational standards, version control, and documentation requirements.
- Demonstrate strong problem-solving skills and proactively learn new technologies, frameworks, and tools as requested.
- Provide ongoing support for existing applications, enhancements, integrations, and system updates.
