This role sits at the front line of growth within FedEx Supply Chain for Ecommerce Fulfillment, responsible for building and owning a book of new business accounts through self-sourced opportunities. You’ll take an account-based approach to prospecting, engaging senior leaders across operations, supply chain, and e-commerce, and introducing brands to one of our newer FedEx Supply Chain offering, AI-powered, next-generation robotic warehouses designed to drive speed, reduce cost, improve accuracy, and help scalability. You'll build pipeline from the ground up, develop relationships across buying committees, and own the full sales cycle from first touch through close. Success comes from strong prospecting discipline, thoughtful discovery, and the ability to consistently convert opportunity into revenue.
Primary Responsibilities
- Prospect and generate leads within assigned target customer groups through proactive networking and leveraging relationships across the FedEx enterprise.
- Develop sales strategies for deploying company services to customer opportunities within designated industry verticals.
- Partner with cross-functional teams and operating companies to document and execute account strategies.
- Lead the qualification process for new accounts through direct customer engagement.
- Identify target opportunities and manage the qualification process for potential business.
- Collaborate across functional areas to develop solutions, proposals, and pricing models.
- Attend sales calls to refine opportunities and build compelling value propositions.
- Manage the proposal and presentation process for customer engagements.
- Coordinate with sales teams in other operating companies to align efforts with shared customers.
- Utilize established tools and processes to maintain accurate and up-to-date sales data.
- Provide weekly reporting on account status and business development progress.
- Lead the sales effort from initial interest through final presentation and account award.
- Continuously energize and advance the sales cycle with professionalism and enthusiasm.
- Bachelor's degree in a related field preferred, with 8 years of supply chain or 3PL sales experience.
- In lieu of degree, high school diploma or GED with 10 years of relevant experience.
- Successful experience selling solutions across industry verticals to customers of varying size and complexity.
- Proven capabilities in logistics, operations, customer service, and project management.
- Strong interpersonal skills for building effective customer and team relationships.
