Duties

• Safely operate box trucks, vans, or personal vehicles to deliver packages along designated routes while adhering to all traffic laws and DOT (Department of Transportation) regulations
• Load, unload, and organize cargo using manual handling techniques and material handling equipment such as pallet jacks and hand trucks
• Ensure accurate delivery by verifying recipient information and obtaining signatures when required
• Maintain vehicle cleanliness, safety inspections, and routine maintenance checks to ensure optimal performance
• Communicate effectively with dispatch using mobile devices to report delivery status or address issues promptly
• Follow safe lifting practices when handling heavy packages to prevent injuries and ensure workplace safety
• Provide excellent customer service by engaging professionally with clients during deliveries and addressing any questions or concerns

Qualifications

• Previous delivery driver experience preferred, especially with courier or van driving roles
• Warehouse experience or familiarity with warehouse operations is advantageous
• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record; commercial driving or truck driving experience is a plus
• Ability to operate manual transmission vehicles and material handling equipment such as pallet jacks
• Knowledge of safe lifting practices, heavy lifting techniques, and weight handling in the workplace
• Familiarity with route driving, adhering to traffic regulations, and DOT (Department of Transportation) compliance standards
• Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate clearly and professionally
• Physical ability to lift heavy packages repeatedly and perform manual handling tasks safely
