Essential Job Duties/Responsibilities
- Identify criminal acts committed against the company and investigate and identify responsible parties
- Recover property and monetary losses through the judicial system
- Work closely and diligently with local, state and federal authorities to resolve cases and identify local and national patterns and trends of cargo theft
- Reduce losses through Security guidelines and procedures
- Educate management in crime prevention and reporting
- Develop practical security applications designed to reduce exposure and risk to employees, cargo and physical assets
- Select and manage uniformed guard forces when necessary
- Compile and maintain record of crimes committed against the company
- Analyze the criminal statistics in an effort to develop preventive measures and reduce crime
- Act as a mentor and assist in development of the lower-level Specialist positions
- Comply with all applicable laws/regulations, as well as company policies/procedures
- Perform other duties as required
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in related field or equivalent experience plus five (5) years of law enforcement and/or corporate security experience
- Background in alarm and Closed Circuit TV (CCTV) technologies, preferred
- Ability to direct investigations
- Experience in courtroom testimony pertaining to presentation of evidence and criminal law violations
- Ability to adequately document and manage case file preparation and presentation
- Ability to conduct covert surveillance undetected
- Ability to attend and successfully complete advanced training in Risk and Vulnerability Assessment and other specialized training
- Ability to track expenditures for budget review
- Excellent time management, organizational and interpersonal skills
- Experience and ability to use Microsoft Office Software, including but not limited to; Word, Excel, and Outlook
- Excellent communication (verbal and written) and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently and as a team member
- Must be able to travel
